Mapping San Francisco's Government

with Michael Adams from CivLab

WATCH/LISTEN: APPLE | YOUTUBE | SPOTIFY

Elie, Hugh and Sam float on the grass with Michael Adams from CivLab to discuss his efforts to democratize San Francisco’s 4,000-page government charter. Our convo spans across Michael’s background in the space industry to CivLab’s purpose: Preventing the collapse of self-governing civilization.

99% of governing happens before and after Election Day. We lose something very important when we tune out after the election results.

Michael worked with garden3d studios XXIX & Sanctuary Computer to develop San Francisco’s Government Graph, a powerful, public-facing data visualization platform that maps the city’s entities and their relationships, budgets, meetings, and more. The long-term goals for the project are to open pathways for engagement within local communities and to expand the model for use in other cities.

Stay tuned for details on a civic engagement event in NYC coming soon!
